Tut

Tut was painted in 2021 on a 12" x 10", 30 cm x 25 cm,  ½” MDF panel using mixed paint media.

Tut is from a group of paintings on black panels that explore self leveling binders and pigments. Tut started as a pool of binder in the center of the painting. It looks like different pigments were floated on the surface of the binder then pushed out to the edge with reactive media to form a darker ring. This buildup of media was then allowed to sag downward beyond the ringed circular shape but not enough to exit the bottom of the panel. More undefined media manipulations obviously took place. This might be the only painting in this group that does not extend to the panel's edge.

Tut had a sense of the canopic jars used in ancient Egypt.

Tut has a high gloss resin finish.
